Premae Harmony Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum

Hello Lovelies,

Today I wanted to share with you something I have been using for a couple of month’s now and have been really impressed with and that is Premae’s Harmony Multi-Vit  Smoothie Serum.

I am a bit fan of Premae, especially their Crème Balms, in particular the Harmony and Triumph ones and when I first received a sample of this Serum in a Glossybox I was excited to try it and I have since got a full size one.

This is a ‘lightweight shine-control serum’ that not only mattifies your skin ready to apply your make up but also ‘provides a protective second skin barrier and shields the skin against free radicals, environmental changes and chemicalised make up’ and ‘leaves skin healthy, fresh and smoothed’.

This Serum has a light consistency that absorbs into your skin really quickly, leaving it feeling fresh and shine free and you don’t need to use much of it as a little goes a long way. I have oily/combination skin and am always looking for something that will help keep my skin matte and help my make up last for longer and this does exactly that. I apply this all over my face before applying my make up, and you can also mix it with your foundation to make a light ‘BB cream’.

I really like using primers before applying make up and I love Benefit’s Porefessional, but one of the reasons I prefer this Serum to Porefessional is that it feels more natural on my skin and like it is benefiting my skin as well as keeping it shine free.

If you haven’t tried anything from Premae I would definitely recommend you do and I am so pleased I was first introduced to Premae by a sample of their Harmony Crème Balm in my May 2013 Glossbox.

My January 'Tiny Tweaks' Birchbox

Hello Lovelies,

Today I wanted to share with you what I received in my January Birchbox. The theme for this month's box is 'Tiny Tweaks’, with the idea behind this being that if you break your new year resolutions down into ‘bite-sized pieces’ and make small changes each day they are more achievable and ‘will make a big difference by year end’. I really like this way of thinking about goals you have no matter how big or small they are. The Birchbox Team have chosen the products for this month's Box to help you make ‘tiny tweaks’ that together will make a big difference.

Included with this month’s box was a little booklet ‘filled with 30 Birchbox-approved tiny tweaks’ and I think this is a lovely idea with good tips in such as 'Add a slice of lemon to hot water and drink first thing in the morning to kickstart your metabolism'.

The Birchbox this month was different to the previous ones I have received and the samples weren't in a little drawstring bag, instead they were wrapped in baby pink tissue paper. I quite liked the drawstring bags, but I guess you could end up with too many and it did look nice wrapped liked this.

Inside my Birchbox was…..

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer - 20ml
This is a hair mask that you apply before you shampoo your hair. The ends of my hair seem a bit dry at the moment so I think I will make an effort to use this soon. I received a sample of this in my August Birchbox, so wasn't too excited to see a sample of this included again so soon. I haven’t used the one I received in August yet so now I have two of them I hope I like this hair mask!

Benefit The Porefessional - 7.5ml
This is a primer that ‘magically erases pores and leaves skin velvety’. I already have a full size one of these and have repurchased it a few times. I love it, because not only does it keep my makeup in place it also helps keep my skin matte throughout the day, so I was happy this was included in my Birchbox this month.

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanillé Soufflé Body Crème - 25g
I haven’t tried any of the Laura Mercier Soufflé Body Crèmes, but have read so many good things about them, so I was really excited to see this inside my Box. It smells amazing and is the perfect size to take with you if you are going on holiday or away for the weekend. It has ‘shea butter, jojoba, grape seed oil’ and ‘aloe vera gel’ in it and I can’t wait to try it.

Premae Anatomy Nutrients Instant Renewal Body Oil with sunflower and rosewood - 20ml
I am a big fan of Premae, especially their Harmony range and if you have oily/combination skin you should give this a try! However I haven’t tried any of their body products and this body oil claims to ‘moisturise, tone and detoxify skin’. I do not usually use body oils as I like to use something that absorbs quickly into my skin, but I will definitely be trying this out.

Delarom Acquaconfort Mask - 15ml
I am really into trying out different skincare products at the moment and love using face masks, so I am always happy to see one of these in my Birchbox. This one helps ‘nourish skin and restore suppleness and vitality’ and I am looking forward to giving this one a try.

Birchbox Eye Mask
I always like getting little extras like this in my Birchbox, however I received one of these in my August one so now I have two, so I think I will give this one to a friend or one of my sisters.

Overall I am really pleased with what I received and I think Birchbox have done really well again this month, although it would have been nice to receive at least one full size product.

I love trying new brands and think beauty boxes like this are a perfect way to discover brands you might not come across otherwise. It is also nice to receive samples from high end well-known brands and Birchbox did well this month by including a Benefit and Laura Mercier sample.

If you fancy trying a Birchbox, you can find more details here.

What did you get in your Birchbox this month? Leave me your link as a comment if you have posted about yours.

Thanks for reading :)

My October 'Dark Romance' Glossybox

Hello Lovelies,

I have been so busy with different things recently I have been neglecting my Blog again :( Anyway today I wanted to share with you what I received in my October Glossybox.

The Theme for this month’s Glossybox is ‘Dark Romance’ and I had seen references to this on Facebook and Twitter before my Glossybox arrived. To me this theme made me think of dark reds and berry colours and I was hoping that I would get a nail polish or lip product in these sorts of colours and was really looking forward to seeing what was inside.

The box this month was one of the usual pink ones and I think with the theme of ‘Dark Romance' it would have been nice if the box was a dark berry colour.

Here is what I got this month…..

MeMeMe Cherub’s Blush – Cheek & Lip Tint – 12ml
This is the only full size product I got this month and I wasn't that excited to see it. Mainly because I have a couple of products like this already that I don’t use much and so I don’t think I will use this much, because I don’t really like using this sort of product on my cheeks, although it does look a nice colour in the bottle so maybe I will give it a try and use it on my lips.

Katy Perry Killer Queen Eau De Parfum - 1.5ml
I was a bit divided on this when I saw it, because I do actually really like the smell of this, but I don’t think little samples like this that you can get free from perfume counters should be included in Glossyboxes. However I will use this and because it is so small it is a good size to keep in your bag.

Monu Illuminating Primer - 20ml
I have received something from this brand before in a previous Glossybox but I can’t remember much about it so I can’t have been that impressed. However this Primer claims ‘to brighten the complexion, add instant sheen and enhance your natural radiance’, which really appeals to me, so I will try this and hopefully it will live up to it’s claims.

Premae Harmony Moisturising Smoothie Serum - 20ml
This was the item I was most pleased to see, because I am a big fan of Premae’s Harmony Moisturising Creme Balm which I blogged about here. This serum is for combination skin which is perfect for my skin type and it ‘helps soothe redness and hydrate skin, whilst keeping it matte and shine free’ and I am really looking forward to using this. I think this sample is quite a good size too, because the full size product is  50ml.

Eva Cosmetics Mystic Diamond Argon Oil - 6ml
This is an argon hair oil that contains real diamond powder and I like using hair oils, so I will use this. I did receive this in a recent Birchbox (which I blogged about here) so I wasn't so excited to see this inside my Glossybox this month, but if I hadn't recently received a sample of this I think I would have been happier to see it inside my Glossybox. I haven't tried my other sample yet, so hopefully I'll really like it as I now have two.

Overall I wasn't that excited with this month’s Glossybox and it is definitely not one of my favourite ones I was also a bit disappointed with the theme, because I am not sure how much the products I got fit the ‘Dark Romance’ theme?
