Beauty Box Swap with Row Bow

Hello Lovelies,

A couple of weeks ago I did a beauty box swap with the lovely Row from What Row Chose... and today I wanted to share with you what she picked for my Box.

This is the third beauty box swap I have taken part in and I think they are a really nice way to get to know  other Bloggers and to try things you might not have chosen for yourself or discover products and brands you haven't tried before.

Here is what Row included in my Box…..

I love trying different lip products and I was really excited to see that Row had chosen three Lipsticks for me. The L.A.Colors Lipsticks she chose for me are in the shades Frozen Berries and Fresh. I haven’t tried any lipsticks from this Brand and I am looking forward to giving these a try.

She also chose a Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss Lipstick in the shade 110. This is a gorgeous red shade and just the sort of colour I love. I don’t think I have tried a matte lipstick before and I am looking forward to trying this.

Row also included for me a Miss Ballantyne Honeybee Lip Balm that she said she loves using. I haven’t tried anything from Miss Ballantyne before but I use lip balms a lot, so I will definitely give use this.

I had mentioned to Row that I have been using liquid eyeliners a lot recently and she chose for me a Dainty Doll Mascara and Eyeliner Duo, which she recommended and I am looking forward to trying it.

Row knows that I love trying different things with my nails and she chose for me some gorgeous spotty Nail Rock Designer Nail Wrap. She also included in my Box a 7 in 1 Nail File, which is always useful :)

Row also included for me a Mudd Deep Cleansing face mask and some Sanctuary Spa Salt Scrub which will both be perfect when I want to have a little pamper session.

Finally Row chose for me a Body Shop Pink Grapefruit soap that smells lovely and fresh and some cherry hand and face wipes, which are a perfect size for me to keep in my bag :)

In my Box Row included a letter telling me why she chose what she did, which I enjoyed reading and thought was a really nice touch.

Thank you Row for all my lovely things :)

If you want to see what I sent Row in her Box, check out her post about our Beauty Box Swap here.

Have you ever taken part in a beauty box swap?

Valtentine's Day NOTD - Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Rapid Ruby and Ciaté Paint Pot in Serendipity

Hello Lovelies,

With Valentine’s Day coming up on Friday, today I have a NOTD for you that would be perfect for Valentine’s Day and my NOTD is Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Rapid Ruby with Ciaté Paint Pot in Serendipity on the tips.

This Rimmel Nail Polish is a gorgeous deep red and I have used this in a previous NOTD post, which you can find here. The Ciaté Paint Pot was one of the nail polishes that was in my Ciaté Mini Mani Advent Calendar and it is a gorgeous glittery pink nail polish.

I have tried gradient glitter nails before, which I posted about here and loved the effect, so wanted to try it again with different colours. I love these nail polishes and they are both perfect for Valentines’s Day so I thought I would try them together.

To do your nails like this with a gradient glitter effect is actually quite easy. First I painted my nails with a base coat of Ciaté Underwear Base Coat, followed by two coats of the Rimmel Nail Polish. You could probably get away with one coat, because it is quite thick and easy to apply with a wide brush, but I like to apply two coats. Then I put a thick line of the Ciaté Paint Pot on the tips and left it for a few seconds before gently pulling it down my nail, I did this twice because I wanted them to be really sparkly. I then applied a coat of Ciaté Speed Coat Top Coat, which left them lovely and shiny.

I love the gradient glitter effect and this colour combination and will definitely try this effect out with some different nail polish combinations.

Have you tried this nail effect? What colour combinations do you like?

Thanks for reading :)

NOTD - Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Rapid Ruby and Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in Wine Shimmer

Hello Lovelies,

Today I have a NOTD Post for you and this is the nail polish combination I chose to wear for New Years Eve, if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me post a photo of this. The Nail Polishes I chose were Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Rapid Ruby and Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in Wine Shimmer. My Sister bought me both of these for Christmas and they are just the sort of colours I love. Rapid Ruby is a gorgeous deep red and Wine Shimmer is a pinky red with lots of glitter in it.

The Rimmel one is quite thick and really easy to apply with quite a big brush. On the bottle it says that this is a one coat nail polish that dries in 60 seconds, and you could probably get away with just one coat of this, but I always prefer to apply two and did try quite quickly. The Maybelline one isn't as thick, but was also easy and quick to apply. I love how these look together, although the photo doesn't show how sparkly they actually were.

In the photo I have applied a base coat of Ciaté Underwear Base Coat, then two coats of the Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish followed by two coats of the Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish.

What nail polishes did you choose for Christmas and New Year?

NOTD - Collection Gothic Glam Nail Polish in Dramatic

Hello Lovelies,

Today I have a NOTD Post for you and my NOTD is Collection's Gothic Glam Nail Polish in Dramatic. This is a gorgeous red/brown colour with lots of red/pink shimmer in it. There are three other shades in the Gothic Glam Collection, Phantom (a lovely metallic purple colour), Deadly (a dark green with gold shimmer) and Poison (a shimmery green/blue).

When I saw this I had to buy it because I instantly loved the colour and think it is perfect for this time of year. It has a lovely big brush which makes it easy to apply and the nail polish is quick thick. I always prefer a nail polish like this that is quite thick because I think it makes it easier to apply. For a really solid colour you need to apply two coats of this.

In the photo I have applied a base coat of Rimmel's Nail Nurse Nail Rescue, then two coats of the Collection Nail Polish followed by a coat of top coat of Rimmel Finishing Touch 3D Plumping Top Coat.

Have you tried any of Collection's Gothic Glam Nail Polishes?

NOTD - Barry M Textured Glitter Nail Paint in Countess

Hello Lovelies,

Today I have a NOTD Post for you and my NOTD is Barry M Textured Glitter Nail Paint in Countess. This is part of Barry M’s new Royal Glitter Collection and a few weeks ago I got this one and Duchess which I posted about here.

This is the most gorgeous dark purple colour with lots of sparkle in it and I absolutely love it and think it is perfect for this time of year. The nail polish is quite thick and the brush is also a nice big thick one that means it is really easy to apply. You could get away with just one coat, but I like to apply two. When it dries it is like Barry M's other Textured Nail Paint and not smooth, but if you apply a top coat it makes it more sparkly and glossy. I think if you applied more than one coat of a top coat it would be even smoother and glossier.

In the photo I have applied a base coat of Rimmel’s Nail Rescue, then two coats of the Barry M Nail Paint followed by a coat of No. 7's Stay Perfect Top Coat.

Have you tried any of these?

Thanks for reading :)

NOTD - Barry M Textured Glitter Nail Paint in Duchess

Hello Lovelies,

Today I have a NOTD Post for you and my NOTD is Barry M Textured Glitter Nail Paint in Duchess. I love anything sparkly and when I saw Barry M’s new Royal Glitter Collection I couldn't resist getting a couple. I got Duchess which is a lovely nude/silver/gold colour with lots of sparkle and Countess which is a dark purple colour with lots of sparkle.

This is a lovely thick nail polish with a nice thick brush that applies really easily and you could probably get away with just one coat, although I applied two coats. Once applied it is like Barry M's other Textured Nail Paint and not very smooth, but when you apply a top coat it makes it more sparkly and glossy.

I absolutely love this and the Countess one too (I will do a NOTD with this one soon) and think they will both be nice for this time of year and particularly around Christmas. In the photo I have applied a base coat of Rimmel’s Nail Rescue, then two coats of the Barry M Nail Paint followed by a coat of Rimmel Finishing Touch 3D Plumping Top Coat.

Have you tried any of these?

Thanks for reading :)

NOTD - Nails Inc Nail Polish in Savile Row

Hello Lovelies,

Today I have a NOTD Post for you and my NOTD is Nails Inc Nail Polish in Savile Row. With the weather getting colder I fancied a darker shade and this is a gorgeous dark burgundy/plum, which is perfect for this time of year.

I have quite a few Nails Inc nail polishes and all of them have quite thin brushes, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I do like the finish they give. This is quite thick and applies evenly and dries to give a really glossy finish, which I love.

In the photo I have applied a base coat of Rimmel’s Nail Rescue, then two coats of the Nails Inc Nail Polish followed by a coat of Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat.

Do you have any favourite nail polishes for this time of year?

Thanks for reading :)

NOTD - Ciaté London Paint Pot in Island Hopping

Hello Lovelies,

Today I have a NOTD Post for you and my NOTD is Ciaté London Paint Pot in Island Hopping. I received this in my July Glossybox and loved the colour instantly. It is a gorgeous red/dark orange colour with lots of gold shimmer.

This nail polish is quite thick and I was really impressed with how well it applied, it applied really smoothly and evenly. I absolutely love this colour and wore it a lot in the summer, but I think it will also be really nice around Christmas time. I love that the Ciaté Paint Pots have a satin bow on the front, I think that makes them really cute.

In the photo I have applied a base coat of Rimmel’s Nail Rescure, then two coats of the Ciaté Paint Pot followed by a coat of No. 7's Stay Perfect Top Coat.

Have you tried any of Ciaté Paint Pots? Did you get one in your July Glossybox?

Thanks for reading :)

Beauty Swap with Clare from A Bit of This and That

Hello Lovelies,

Today I wanted to share with you what I received in a recent Beauty Swap I took part in.

I had seen bloggers post about these in the past and always thought they looked a great way to meet other bloggers and a good opportunity to try products you might not always buy for yourself. So when Hannah from Hannah Marie Beauty asked if anyone was interested in taking part in one, I jumped at the chance. Hannah allocated everyone who took part in the beauty swap a partner and I was paired with the lovely Clare from A Bit of This and That and we were set a limit of £10. Then it was down to us to get to know each other a bit and let each other know the sorts of things we like.

This being my first beauty swap I wasn’t quite sure what to choose and so looked at some beauty swap posts to see what sort of things people had included and I also looked at Clare’s blog to see what sort of things she liked. After getting to know a bit what Clare likes, I decided to send her things I hope she would like but also things I love using. I did go a little over our £10 limit, but I hope Clare enjoys using the things I sent her as much as I do. If you want to see what I sent Clare you can look at her post here.

I was really excited to see what Clare had chosen for me and my package arrived this week. This is what was in my package :)

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder
I was really pleased when I saw this because I love highlighters and particularly powder ones. I have been meaning to try this for a while, so looking forward to using it.

Sleek Shimmer Blush in Rose Gold
I actually already have this, but I love Sleek Blushes and this shade it is one of my favourite ones. I love the colour and how shimmery it is, so I was really happy when I saw that the Blush Clare had sent me was Rose Gold.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige
I have not tried these yet, but have seen some reviews of them, saying how good they are, so I am excited to try this. I swatched this straight away and it's a gorgeous shimmery champagne colour, it feels really creamy and I will definitely wear this.

There was also a lovely card from Clare inside.

Thank you Clare for my lovely things :)

I loved taking part in this Beauty Swap and hopefully will be part of some more in the future.

Have you ever taken part in one? If you have leave me your links in the comments box if you posted about them, because I’d love to see what you got.

Thanks for reading :)
