Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk

Hello Lovelies,

Woo hoo, it’s finally Friday!

I have had a lot going on the last week or so and have been neglecting my Blog a bit. So to get back into it, I decided to write about something I have been loving recently and have been using lots over the last few weeks and that is Soap and Glory’s Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk. I am a big fan of Soap and Glory, and hadn't tried this until recently, but as soon as I did I wished I had tried it before.

The first thing you can’t help but notice about this is the smell, it doesn't have the classic Soap and Glory fragrance, but it smells absolutely gorgeous. Soap and Glory describe this as having a ‘almond, oat and brown sugar scent’ and I can’t think of a better way of describing it than that, other than adding it almost smells good enough to eat! It has a lovely texture that applies easily to your skin and absorbs quickly. I normally apply it before I go to bed and in the morning my skin feels really soft and smells lovely too.

I used this a lot a few weeks ago when I got quite sun burnt and applied it in the morning and at night and my sunburn turned into a tan and didn't peel at all, which just gave me another reason to love this.

I also really like that the bottle has a pump, making it really easy to use and when your hands already have moisturiser on and are slippery you don’t cover the bottle in moisturiser when you need some more.

I’d love to hear if you have tried this what you think of it and if you haven’t then I would recommend trying it.

Thanks for reading :)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser

Hello Lovelies,

Today I am wanted to share with you a product I have tried recently following a recommendation by the lovely Molly from What Molly Loves and  the product is Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser.

I had wanted to try a hot cloth cleanser for a while, but wasn’t sure what one to try and I didn’t really want to try and high end one if I then didn’t get on with it. Molly said she really enjoyed using this one and so when I spotted it on offer in Superdrug recently for only £2.99, I couldn’t resist giving it a try. It is normally £5.99 which I think is a good price for this anyway.

If you have never used a hot cloth cleanser like I hadn’t until this one and not sure what one is, it is a cleanser that you take off with a muslin cloth after running it under warm water.

The cleanser its self is quite thick and feels quite moisturising as you apply it and it smells really nice too, which is always a bonus. However what I enjoy most about using this product is buffing it off with the muslin cloth, it really feels like you are giving your face a good clean and afterwards my face feels really clean and I think it makes my skin tone look a bit more even and brighter.

Have you tried this? If so what did you think of it? Are there any other hot cloth cleansers you could recommend?

Thanks for reading :)

NOTD - Nails Inc Nail Polish in Portobello

Hello Lovelies,

Today I wanted to share with you my NOTD, which is Nails Inc Nail Polish in Portobello. I received this in my May Glossybox and was really pleased because I am a fan of Nails Inc and have quite a few of their Nail Polishes already.

I instantly loved the colour in the bottle, although once applied and in daylight it looks a bit more orange than in the bottle and I am not sure I like it as much as I thought I would. Although I do think it is a really nice shade for summer and would look lovely with a tan, so would be perfect to take on holiday. This did apply a little streaky and I needed to apply two coats to get a more even colour. In the photo I have applied one coat of Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Base Coat then two coats of the Nail Polish followed by a cost of Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat.

Do you like Nails Inc Nail Polishes? What are your favourite shades?

Thanks for reading :)

The Skin Care Tag

Hello Lovelies,

At the moment I am really enjoying trying different skin care products and I don’t tend to use the same products all the time, instead using different ones every few days, although I am not really sure if this is such a good idea??

The Lovely Natasha from Shot of Beauty recently tagged me in the Skin Care Tag and I really enjoyed reading her answers and thought her skin care tip of sticking to the same routine for a few months so you can see if it makes a real difference to your skin was really useful, especially that I don’t currently do that and it has made me think I should try that. So thank you Natasha :)

Here are my answers…..

Describe your skin care routine in 5 words
Cleanse, Exfoliate, Refresh, Hydrate, Nourish.

What's your skin type?
My skin type is oily/combination.

What's your favourite skin care product?
At the moment, I am really enjoying using Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling really clean and I think it looks brighter after I have used it. I am also loving Premae’s Harmony Moisturising Creme Balm, which moisturises my skin but also helps to mattify it and absorbs really quickly, which is a must from a moisturiser for me. I reviewed this here.

Top blemish zapper
Over the years I have tried different things, like I am sure most people have, but I think the best way thing to use if you have a blemish is some sudocrem applied before you go to bed, the only problem with that is that it ends up on your pillow.

Face wipes yay or nay?
I use face wipes to remove my make up before cleansing if I want to take it off quickly, or sometimes just to freshen up my face if I have no make up on and my skin feels a bit oily. I don’t think it’s a great idea though for your skincare routine to consist of just using these.

High-end skin care or high-end make-up?
I don’t know how I can choose between these, because I enjoy using both, although I do enjoy using drugstore skin care and make-up as well. My skincare products are a mixture of high end products and drugstore products, for example I love Clarins Cleansers, Toners, Exfoliators and Face Masks, Clinique’s Three Step Products and Eye Cream and Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant for my lips, but I also really like St Ives Apricot Blemish Control Scrub, L’Oreal
Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Micellar Solution, Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk, Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks and of course Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser.

What's the most unusual skin care product you've tried?
I don’t think I have tried any unusual skin care products.

You're in a French pharmacy and can only pick up one item - what is it?
I haven’t tried Bioderma, but have read so many reviews raving about it, so I would pick up some of that.

Tell us your top skin care tip
Always try and make time to cleanse and exfoliate your face, I think there is nothing nicer than the feeling of really clean skin. My other tip would be use a moisturiser that is suited for your skin type, over the years I have used ones that aren’t and always regretted it.

My June Glossybox

Hello Lovelies,

I always am excited when my Glossbox arrives and can't wait to see what is inside. I received my June Glossybox on Saturday and I love reading about what other people receive in theirs so I thought I would share with you what I got. This theme for this month's Glossybox was Summer Looks and the leaflet you get in the box states that 'this month's products were selected to update your make-up bag with summer staples.'

In my Glossybox this month I got.....

Monu Professional Skincare Hand and Nail Cream - 50ml
I never get that excited about hand creams, although I do try and use them at least at night, and this smells really nice, so I will definitely use this. It says it is non-greasy so I really hoping it is one that absorbs quickly as I don't like ones that leave your hands greasy so you feel like you can't touch anything.

Gosh Growth Mascara - 10ml
I haven't tried any Gosh Mascaras and am always on the look out for an amazing mascara and this one is described as helping your lashes to grow as well as adding volume and length and so I am really looking forward to trying this.

Organic Surge Shine Boost Conditioner - 200ml
I hadn't heard of this Brand before, but a shine boosting conditioner is always a good thing, so I will give it a try. It would have been nice if I had received the Shampoo as well so I could try them together.

Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Lip Balm - 12.5ml
This was the product that caught my eye first, because the packaging is just gorgeous and I tried this straight away. It felt really nice when applied and smells lovely. It has a pink tint to it, which I loved. This is described as a multi-tasking product that can be used on cuticles, elbows, knees and even to tame eyebrows, but I don't know if I would use it for anything other than a lip balm because it is tinted.

Me Me Me Cosmetics Long Lasting Nail Gloss - 12ml
I love trying different nail polishes and so am always pleased to get a nail polish in my Glossybox. The shade I got is 57 Elegant and I am not quite sure how to describe it other than a kind of mix between silver and gold. I haven't tried a Me Me Me Cosmetics nail polish before and so am not sure how well they apply or last, but I quite like this colour, so will try it.

Overall I am really pleased with what I got this month and was really impressed that all my products are full size ones :)

If you are interested in trying a Glossybox, you can find out more here: Glossybox

What did you get in your Glossybox this month? Leave me your link as a comment if you have posted about yours.

Premae Harmony Moisturising Creme Balm

Hello Lovelies,

I have been really busy lately and so haven’t been able to post as much as I would like to. Anyway today I want to share with you something that I have been really enjoying using recently and that is Premae's
Harmony Moisturising Creme Balm.

I received this in my May Glossybox and until I did, I hadn't heard of Premae. I have combination/oily skin and find that if I use a moisturiser that isn’t for combination/oily skin it just leaves my skin feeling more oily, so I am always on the lookout for a good moisturiser. This is designed for combination skin and Premae state that it contains 'antiseptic and anti-inflammatory Lemongrass Oil which soothe breakouts and reduce excess oil in the skin', and I was excited to try it.

It feels really light when applied and soaks into my skin straight away, leaving my skin feeling mattified and not oily or wet like some moisturisers do. It also helps keep my skin shine free and leaves it feeling less oily. When I use this it seems like a little goes a long way and so I don't need to apply much, so I think this little pot while last me a few weeks.

After trying this I definitely want to try some other things from Premae :)

I'd love to hear if you have tried this and what you think of it. Or if you have the same skin type as me and have a moisturiser you love using I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks for reading :)

Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag

Hello Lovelies,

I have been tagged by the lovely Linda from Love for Beauty to do the Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag. I enjoy reading these sorts of posts and think they are fun to answer to. This is what you have to do…..

1) Follow and link up the person who tagged you.

2) Answer the questions on Greed, Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth, Pride, Lust and Envy.

3) Tag as many people as you wish and let them know you have tagged them.

4) Let the person who tagged you know that you did the tag by commenting on their post.

Greed - what is your most expensive beauty item?
Over the last eighteen months I been saving for a house and have now bought one, so have had to be more careful with what I spend on beauty products, I would think the most expensive beauty product (excluding perfume, because I think they are always more expensive) I have is my Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil, which I posted about here. Like anyone I do love high end products as a treat and my wishlist is huge, but I tend to wait until somewhere has an offer before I buy something, like when Debenhams have their 10% off beauty products. I think for me to spend more than £30-£40 on a beauty product it would have to be pretty amazing, except for perfume.

Sloth - which product do you neglect the most due to laziness?
I don’t moisturise my body as much as I should, although I am always trying to make myself do it more often. I have so many lovely body moisturisers and body butters so I don’t really have an excuse, although I don’t like the feeling that you get when they don’t absorb quickly, so maybe that is what stops me.

Wrath - which item do you have a love/hate relationship with?
I was trying to think of something that I have a love/hate relationship with but will have to agree with Linda and say lip gloss and for the same reasons she does. I also love how it looks, but hate that a lot feel sticky and your hair sticks to them. I prefer things like YSL's Glossy Stains, L’Oreal's GlamShine Stain Splashes (which I posted about here) and MUA's  Power Pouts (which I posted about here).

Gluttony - what brand makes up most of your make-up collection?
I would have to say Benefit. For a long time Benefit was probably my favourite make up brand, and I do still love their products, but now that I have so many of them I have been trying other brands more. I only have one MAC Product at the moment and that is their Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle, which I love so much and there are lots of other MAC products I want to try. I also really like trying MUA products, because they are so affordable and I have really enjoyed using the ones I have tried like the Undressed and Undress Me Too Palettes.

Pride - which product gives you the most confidence?
This was a bit tricky for me, because there is not one product that on its own would make me feel more confident, so I am going to cheat here a bit and say the products that give me the most confidence are a good primer like Benefit’s Porefessional, a BB Cream like Garnier’s Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream (which I posted about here), Mascara (I love Maybelline's Volum' Express The Falsies Black Drama Mascara) and a shimmery blush, like Sleek's Shimmer Blush in Rose Gold.

Lust - which item is at the top of your beauty wish list?
I don’t know how I can choose, there are so many things I want at the moment , a few are Marc Jacob’s Dot Eau de Parfum , Benefit's Fine One One, Maybelline Color Sensational Popsticks, Sleek's Shimmer Blush in Sunrise and Lush's Face Masks.

Envy - which make up product/look is great on others but not yourself?
I think different people suit different looks, but one product/look I think looks really nice on other people is bright lipstick, but I just don’t think it suits me, or maybe it is that I am not used to wearing it and so don’t feel confident wearing it, I’m not sure.
